published the out pouring of support was unbelievable, here we are a year into weekly chemo therapy and not a day goes by that someone somewhere does not send messages of thier support.  Before Olivia was diagnosed I would hear stories much like hers and think that is so sad, then for my own self comfort would carry on trying not to think about it.  I associated cancer and its recovery to be nothing but sadness and being ill, when in fact it is very different.  Olivia has great days when she is not feeling ill from chemo, she plays and laughs and although only just turning three is a big part of planning the different events held to help raise funds for our family.  It is places like the Canadian Cancer Society that help us get by while jobs are put on hold while you fight.  I thought of the cancer society as a charity for research when in fact there is a lot more to it.  We travel two and a half hours to chemo and stay in hotels for long stays while Olivia is treated.  It is the costs associated with this that are staggering.  The cancer society helps us by paying for Olivia and one parents train ticket to Toronto.  A big help.  It could be tomorrow that we turn on the tv and find that a cure has been found, but unitl then the more people that take the time to hold different events such as this the bigger the chance that some day a cure will be found.  I can not possibly express the comfort that my family recieves when a complete stranger takes the time to send an email to say "we are thinking about your daughter"  Someday she will look back on this time in her life, read all the emails etc. sent to oliviasdream web site and know that she is loved by many people.
