Fitness and Nutrition

With 72 days of riding in 85 days, covering over 8200 kilometers along the way, the TCG riders are dedicated to make each and every stop. Beginning in such a mountainous terrain in BC also means that the guys must be well adapted at the start of the journey for the long rides and steep hills. Because of this, TCG has aligned with Exercise Advantage and Nutrition House in order to maximize their fitness and nutrition efforts both before and during the ride.

Nutrition

Nutrition is a vital part to any athletes training. Knowing what to eat, when to eat and having a fully balanced diet is extremely important. The riders follow a meal plan that includes lots of lean meats, pasta, fresh fruits and vegetables, grains, dairy products, fish oils, and more! We usually eat at home and rarely eat out at restaurants.

Because the riders are at the gym 4 days a week as well as working on their cardio 4-5 times a week, ensuring optimal recovery is crucial. To that end, we have been utilizing a host of nutritional supplements to compliment our daily nutrition plan, including recovery drinks, protein powders, creatine, and branched chain amino acids.

The above wouldn't be possible without the amazing support of Nutrition House, who have generously supplied all the supplements necessary for each TCG member. The riders believe that each and everyone should strive to include healthy eating habits and daily exercise as a part of their lives.
